Kick-Off Meeting
Once you have signed a contract for your chosen electronic
medical record (EMR) solution, a kick-off meeting will be held with
you, the Physician Office System Program (POSP) and your EMR
vendor.
Your EMR solution requirements and the overall implementation
process will be discussed to ensure any unique needs are addressed.
If you have data management requirements, the timing of related
activities will also be discussed as part of this process.
Within 60 days of signing your contract, your chosen EMR vendor
will draft a project plan to document the activities required for
the implementation of your EMR solution, who is responsible for
performing which activities, and when the activities are to be
completed. These vendor activities include high-level planning
for:
- Implementation
- Hardware and network
- Configuration
- Data management
- Workflow analysis
- Training
- Go-live
- Provincial electronic health record integration
- Implementation support
