Changes to VCUR 2008 Milestone Payments
August 9, 2010
As physicians transition to the new VCUR 2008 solutions the
Physician Office System Program (POSP) has collected feedback about
the process. In response to this feedback two changes are being
made to the POSP reimbursement process:
- The percentages of one-time costs paid at each milestone have
been adjusted to better reflect the time and effort required of
both physicians and vendors during the early stages of the
transition.
- Physicians will now be reimbursed at Milestone 1 (contract
signing). Previously physicians were reimbursed for both Milestones
1 and 2 once Milestone 2 was achieved.
The changes took effect August 1, 2010.
- Changes to milestone percentages
• Physicians who sign contracts after August 1, 2010 will be
invoiced for one-time costs at each milestone according to the
revised percentages (see table below).
• Physicians who have already signed contracts will continue
to be invoiced according to the original percentages which are
specified in their contracts.

- Reimbursement at Milestone 1
• Physicians will be reimbursed at Milestone 1 for all contracts
signed after August 1, 2010.
• Physicians who have already signed a contract and been invoiced
for reaching Milestone 1, but have not yet reached Milestone 2
(Approved Project Plan), will be reimbursed 70% for Milestone 1 by
the end of August.
POSP is updating its program guidelines, website and materials
as quickly as possible.
